This conceptpainting is for my third year 3d shortmovie project in my school.
Its about a magical stone that has disapeared for centuries and now a young brave boy named Salu will go and search for it. The journey takes him to temples and he meets lots of strange creatures + he has to meet the gods.
There isnt really a story yet but i go after feeling when i paint these pictures..so maybe i can get inspiration for my shortmovie.

In this picture the hero askes the gods for help.

This is really something, I'm blown away, really

It's great to see a god that really looks like it's from another world or dimension. Outside the context of greek gods, norse gods, etc, it would make real sense that gods are something that no-one can really describe in normal terms.

If the movie ends up looking like this, it's gonna rule. I think it'd be cool if there wasn't any speech in it, to really sell the atmosphere. Oh, and the blue markings on the creature should glow, and its body should be translucent, and its tentacles should move like it's in water instead of air, and that pole behind the kid should light up to signal its approach, and... okay, I'm shutting up.
